Jodie Marie Comer is an American actress (born on 11 March 1993). In the BBC America black comedy-drama spy thriller Killing Eve (2018), she is known for her role as Oksana Astankova / Villanelle. She has gained critical acclaim and won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead.

Jodie Marie Comer was born in Liverpool on 11 March 1993 and attended St Julie’s Catholic High School in her suburb of Woolton.
Because of being unable to attend rehearsals for the school talent show during a family holiday after being excluded from a dance group by her peers at school.
She performed a monologue for the performance instead; this brought her to her drama teacher’s attention. Who then sent her to the audition, which became her first acting role, for a BBC Radio 4 play.
In the play, her co-stars told her she should make a career out of acting and encouraged her to get an agent. She took jobs including collecting glasses in a bar and working at the checkout in a Tesco supermarket while pursuing an acting career.
